Hey, thanks for stopping by, it’s nice to meet you. My name is Mark Smith, founder of Project Confidence. I’d like to tell you a little about myself.
I’m 19 years old, but have a lot to share, so don’t let my age deceive you.I live in the great, and bitterly cold state of Maine. No that is not part of Canada, but thanks for asking. I am also currently a student studying psychology. Oh, I also have a crazy dog named Macey. She runs my house. I’m sure you’ll hear about her from time to time.
I struggled with confidence, but if you asked anyone who knew me they’d never tell you that. I put on a good front, because I didn’t want anyone seeing me the way I saw myself. Confidence struggles can stem from so many things, whether they be major or minor, the struggle remains the same.
For me it was three things. The first was being so skinny, people always pick on the skinny guy (this was strike one, confidence still has a chance.). Then as I got older I felt so lost in the world and insecure. I did not know where I wanted to go or who I wanted to be, and that was scary (strike two, confidence has one swing left.) The final straw for me was when I started to see myself as being caught in the crowd. I felt I would never make a difference in the world, and that no one would remember my ever so simple name. All I wanted was to be heard, and I feared I never would be ( strike three! Confidence out!).
As you can see I didn’t experience anything overly drastic. But if you’re going through those same things, or something similar, or any event that causes your confidence to flee, you know it feels like your worlds ending. I wish I could have got more help, but I didn’t. I felt alone, and I don’t want anyone to feel that way.
Now I want to help anyone who shares this struggle.
I started Project Confidence for a simple reason: To help people gain, or restore confidence, so that they can project it. Yes, it is a play on words. I thought I was clever.
Project Confidence is a place everyone can come and learn simple ways to better their lives everyday! However, you’re going to need a sense of humor and laugh at my jokes even when they aren’t funny, so laugh now (seriously laugh). I do also have a serious side, but I like to make this as fun as I can so that you can enjoy the journey.
So that’s me! Now you can say you know another Mark Smith! Don’t get me confused with the rest of them though. Remember I’m the funny but serious one(laugh here). Anyways, now that you know me I would love to know you. I will always take emails and love to talk so feel free to contact me!
Have a great day!
